Spider-Man : Shattered Dimensions

So, seeing as i wanted to become spiderman most of my childhood, the spiderman games has always been, and always will be a no brainer for me.
Of course i gotta buy the games, it's spiderman for gods sake! Who doesn't wanna be him?
Well, anyways, i picked up shattered dimensions a couple weeks ago on my way home from work, and prepared for another xx hours of web slinging around the big apple.
My first thought was in the wtf alley, as the graphics were refreshingly cartoonish, atleast for the 'amazing spiderman'. I was quite impressed with the variety shattered dimensions offer, while it offers variety in playing styles, graphics, enemies and puzzles, it isn't exactly a sandbox style game.
This wasn't really an issue, even tho im a dedicated sandbox fan, i actually found the "written in stone" type of story/gameplay to be a nice change from the previous spiderman titles, where you often spend xx hours just running, crawling and web-slinging your way around town.

Spider-man : shattered dimensions has four different spidermen to have fun with, and they are by all means fun, noir spidey offers the more stealthy, yet physically weaker playing style.
Spiderman 2099 is all about the roundhouse kick, building diving and slow motion ownage.
While good old amazing spiderman offers the traditional spiderman style, ready to equip a grocery bag on his head (an unlockable outfit, where he wears a grocery bag on his head, and a fantastic four spandex), for extra protection
Ultimate spiderman is actually spiderman with the venom symbiote "black suit". Which is rather awesome, he seems to be the most maneuverable spiderman concerning web-slinging, and he also has the awesome rage mode, which more or less allows for you to crush all resistance. + to ultimate spiderman for the cool symbiote attacks.

The combat in shattered dimensions isn't "all that", but it works because you dont play the same spiderman more than one level at a time, so you get to vary your playing style, and it's a great way to keep the players interested in the game, when your continually being offered a new approach to the same problem..

Regarding the story, wer'e not talking masterpiece qualities here, but it is indeed a step up for the spider-man series, and hopefully the start of a new direction for superhero games.

All in all, it was a good play, any marvel fan should definetively pick this up!
And for everyone else.. well.. don't pick it up. Unless you want to of course. Which you should.
